Man critically injured in gas station robbery and shooting on South Side

CHICAGO — A man is critically injured after a robbery and shooting in the city’s Washington Park neighborhood overnight.

According to police, the incident happened at a gas station in the 100 block of East Garfield Boulevard around 1:40 a.m.

The situation caught on surveillance video showed a 28-year-old man and another man at the gas station when someone exited a white Lexus and robbed the men of an unknown amount of money and fired shots.

The 28-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was dropped off at St. Bernard’s Hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
