Man charged with second-degree murder after deadly White House shooting

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person is in custody after Sumner County deputies reportedly found a man dead inside a White House home Monday.

Deputies with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on Winding Way on April 22 after receiving a report of a shooting. Once at the residence, authorities said they found Patrick Joseph Fullerton dead from a gunshot wound.

Multiple other people were at the home when deputies arrived, including Jacob Allen Garrett. Garrett reportedly admitted to shooting Fullerton, but deputies have not yet released a motive.

A .22 caliber revolver and bloodstained clothing were among some of the evidence authorities said they discovered after searching the premises. Based on the investigation, the sheriff’s office said Garrett was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.

In a news release sent out on Tuesday, April 23, the sheriff’s office extended its “deepest condolences to the family and friends of Patrick Joseph Fullerton during this tragic time.” Authorities said the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
