Man charged in deadly motorcycle accident in northwest Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man who was driving with a revoked license when he struck and killed a motorcyclist has been charged, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced.

Officers responded to calls regarding the serious accident around 11:53 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, in the 3500 block of Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte.

Kendrick Andre Neely, 50, was found in the road with serious injuries and was rushed to Atrium Health Main where he was later pronounced deceased.

CMPD said Neely was riding on his motorcycle and traveling northbound on Brookshire Blvd. when a Cadillac, driven by Rico Conception Aery, 41, turned into Neely’s path, knocking him off the bike. Aery has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.

Aery has also been issued citations for driving while license revoked and failure to yield right-of-way. The investigation into this crash is active and ongoing.
