Man charged with business burglary, car theft

TUPELO – A Fulton man is accused of breaking into a manufactured housing business and stealing a company vehicle in mid-May.

Tupelo police responded to Southern Homes on South Gloster Street May 13. Employees told the responding officers that an individual had broken into a display mobile home and was found there by employees. When employees contacted 911, the suspect fled the scene. After the suspect left, the employees realized that a company vehicle had been moved to a nearby location and its keys were now missing.

The investigation led to the May 20 arrest of Jasmine D. Hurt, 33, of South Cummings Street, Fulton, charged with burglary of a commercial building and felony theft of a motor vehicle.

During his initial appearance, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Jay Weir set bond at $20,000.
