Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Raleigh County

LANARK, WV (WVNS) — A man was charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Raleigh County on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Myles Williams was charged with one count of Attempted Murder, two counts of Wanton Endangerment, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and a Felony Capias.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting on Arbor Lane in the Lanark area of Raleigh County a bit before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 .

Once deputies arrived on scene, they were able to arrest Williams and help the victim until EMS arrived on scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and reportedly has non-life-threatening injuries.

Myles Williams was arraigned by a Raleigh County Magistrate and placed in Southern Regional Jail on $135,000 bond.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office stated that any suspects/defendants should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
