Man out on bond after deadly shooting near Loris, solicitor’s office says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man charged with murder after a Jan. 16 shooting near Loris that left one person dead and another injured is out of jail on bond.

Tre’Shawn Davis was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Friday morning at about 11 a.m., online booking records show.

Mic’kell Grissett, 19, of Loris, died in the operating room at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center after the shooting, which happened at about 1 p.m. on Cheryl Road, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said.

Davis allegedly shot both victims with a handgun, according to arrest warrants obtained by News13. Officers with the Horry County and Loris police departments responded to the scene.

Davis’s release comes one day after Circuit Court Judge Alex Hyman set a $100,000 surety bond for him, ordered GPS monitoring, and that Davis have no contact with the victims’ families, Tonya Root with the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.

News13 has reached out to Judge Hyman for comment. Count on News13 for updates.
