Man arrested for suspected child sexual assault in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A man is in custody for a suspected sexual assault of a child in Eau Claire. According to ECPD (Eau Claire Police Department), on Monday (5/20/24), police received a report of a man who appeared to coerce a younger-looking person into a portable toilet near the Forest Street Community Garden. The man was identified as 36-year-old Ray Jackson. Jackson attempted to obscure the officer’s view inside the toilet. However, they were able to see another person inside, who was a juvenile.

After officers completed interviews and physical evidence was collected. They determined there was probable cause for a sexual assault to occur. Jackson is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow morning (5/22/24).
