Court documents provide more details about more than 30-hour standoff late last week at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in North Lubbock.

A warrant released Monday shows that 48-year-old Gene Solis, who remains held at the Lubbock County Detention Center, is facing two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant, a first degree felony that carries a punishment of five years to life in prison.

A probable cause affidavit filed with the warrant states that the case against Solis stems from a phone call he reportedly made to a Lubbock police officer on Nov. 25, saying he planned to "shoot his ex-wife." Solis also reportedly told the officer that he was prepared to shoot anyone who tried to stop him and that he was going to make the officer "put a bullet in his head," the affidavit states.

The officer found Solis in the area of Solis' ex-wife's residence, but Solis fled in a vehicle and officers chased after him. However, the vehicle chase was canceled when it threatened public safety, according to a police news release.

Solis reportedly called the officer again, saying the officer could find his body in Hale Center. Police there found Solis and another vehicle pursuit ensured.

The chase ended at the Army Reserve Center in the 300 block of East Regis.

The officer who had been speaking with Solis told investigators that Solis exited the center and fired two rounds at him and two other police officers. The officers said they could sense the bullets fly over their heads.

No injuries were reported but the officers said Solis' actions put them in immediate risk of serious bodily injury or death, the affidavit states.

Negotiators with LPD and the FBI worked through the night and into Friday morning until they were able to convince Solis to surrender, the release states.

According to jail records, Solis' bond is set at $500,000. However, he is also being held on a federal detainer, according to jail records.
