Man arrested for shooting at LA Fitness gym in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) charged a man for shooting someone at a gym.

PGPD took 24-year-old Nelson Ballard III, of Landover, into custody on April 17. Police said he shot a man at an LA Fitness gym at 9450 Ruby Lockhart Blvd. earlier this month.

Officers from the Glenarden Police Department responded to the shooting that took place on April 11 around 8:30 p.m. There, they found the man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but his condition was stable, according to PGPD.

Ballard was charged with attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder along with weapon offenses and related charges.
