(SECURITY-WIDEFIELD, Colo.) — After years of investigation, a man was taken into custody on Monday, April 15 on charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Child, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit of CSPD launched an investigation into an unknown person who was uploading child sexual abuse material to a social media app in November of 2022. In December of 2023, detectives pinpointed a possible address in unincorporated El Paso County, in the Security-Widefield area, and conducted numerous hours of surveillance on the home. On April 11, 2024, a search warrant was conducted in the 200 block of Dexter Street, in a neighborhood northeast of US 85-87 and Mesa Ridge Parkway.
