Man arrested for murder after shooting at large house party in Utah
COALVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — A man is facing a murder charge after a shooting at a large house party in Coalville, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said.
Manuel A Pimentel Gonzales, 23, was arrested on suspicion of murder (first-degree felony); purchase, transfer, possess, use of a firearm by a restricted person (third-degree felony); and felony discharge of a firearm — shoot in direction of person (third-degree felony), his affidavit states.

In the affidavit, Summit County deputies said they were dispatched on reports of shots fired at a large house party on Lower Bowl Road. There were more than 300 people on the property’s 7,000 square feet over 444 acres of land, although deputies said many were leaving as they arrived because of the shooting.
“Multiple people were located in the vicinity and … were hiding in a vehicle as rounds were flying through the air,” the affidavit states.
During initial investigations, authorities reportedly found more than 29 40mm and 9mm casings.
Video surveillance was also located, which revealed a man — later identified as Pimentel-Gonzales — retrieve a firearm out of a white BMW SUV. The firearm looked like an AK-47 style rifle but smaller in size, the affidavit states.
Pimentel-Gonzales allegedly pointed the firearm toward the side of the building and deputies said shots could be heard over the surveillance.
“When you hear shots on the video you can see Manuel retrieve back to the white BMW vehicle and walk up to the front of it. He then hands the firearm to another male as he walks away around the vehicle,” the affidavit states.
Detectives said Pimentel-Gonzales was struck by one of the bullets and was transported to an area hospital.
