Man arrested after killing uncle, barricading himself in home for 4 hours: Prichard Police

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Prichard Police Department has released more information about a standoff that happened in Eight Mile Friday night.

PPD officials said their officers and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team were called to the 200 block of Sasser Drive around 5 p.m. Friday for a “barricaded situation.”

According to the PPD release, officers learned that 34-year-old Destin Levan Conner had possibly stabbed his uncle, 70-year-old Albert Conner, but the body could not be located.

Destin barricaded himself inside his mother’s home for four and a half hours until he peacefully surrendered, according to the release.

That is when officers learned that he had stabbed and killed Albert, the release said.

Albert’s body was located inside the home and was taken to the Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy, according to the release.

Destin is charged with murder, kidnapping, domestic violence menacing and domestic violence third-degree assault, according to police.
