And according to AutoVantage Club, 37% of aggressive driving incidents involve a firearm.

Now it would seem that same frustration is overflowing at places you might least expect it, like the Nashville International Airport.

According to arrest documents from this past Sunday, two motorists driving to the terminal got into a road rage incident while merging into a single lane. That’s when the victim told police, he looked into his rearview mirror and saw a man, now identified as Richard Lake, leaning over his steering wheel and allegedly waving a gun.

Airport police stopped the 55-year-old who had a KY license but was also an ex-con out of Indiana.

When asked if he had a gun, Lake reportedly said yes and police recovered that weapon from the center console.

Thankfully, no shots were fired and nobody was injured. Lake was arrested without further incident. He was charged with felon in possession of a handgun and aggravated assault.

Lake posted a $20,000 bond and is out of jail.

When travelers were informed of the incident, the common theme was shock that it would happen on airport property.
