Man apprehended after leaving reentry program: CDCR

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man who walked away from a reentry program for about three hours was apprehended on Friday, according to officials.

On May 10, Johnny Travis, 51, was apprehended by officials after cutting his GPS device. Officials found Travis around 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, in Kern County.

Travis will be transported to North Kern State Prison, and returned to CDCR personnel.

Since 1977, 99 percent of all people who have left an adult institution, camp or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
