From Cosmopolitan

A man in Gilbert, Arizona, has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his roommate Sunday, just days after tweeting a joke about wanting to kill his roommates.

Zachary Penton, 21, fatally shot Daniel Garofalo, 41, following an altercation at their residence. Penton immediately called police to report the incident, and Garofalo was pronounced dead at the scene once authorities arrived. Police confirmed to BuzzFeed News that Garofalo was unarmed during the incident, and they are still investigating whether Penton obtained his firearm legally.

At this time, police have not yet verified if the ominous tweet from Twitter account @Zac_Penton actually came from the suspect, but they are "looking into the possibility," ABC reports. Meanwhile, the tweet has gone viral, receiving over 34,000 retweets and 19,000 likes to date.

Penton is currently being held at Maricopa County Jail on $750,000 bond.
