Man allegedly found with crack cocaine, meth after running from police

MARSHALL, Texas (KETK) — The Marshall Police Department said a traffic stop led to the arrest of a man on Sunday after police found crack cocaine amongst other drugs in his possession.

According to a release, a Marshall patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on the intersection of E. Burleson Street and North Columbus Street. Police said people in the vehicle “were exhibiting nervous behaviors” and one of the occupants reportedly has been “dealt with” on multiple occasions for thefts and burglaries.

Police got a consent to search the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia and an ID in the backseat. After further investigation, police discovered one of the backseat passengers had given a false name and had active warrants from Bowie County. Police identified the passenger as Foster Agers, 43 of Dallas.

Agers reportedly then ran from the scene and a short pursuit ensued before police took him into custody. When police found Agers, he reportedly had methamphetamine, crack cocaine and ecstasy.

Agers was taken to the Harrison County Jail and was charged with evading arrest, failure to identify and intent to give false information and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set to $63,500.
