Man accused of stealing $50K in beauty items during months-long burglary spree that targeted numerous Las Vegas salons

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man with a lengthy criminal history who was due to be sentenced in May on a 2023 criminal case is now facing 20 additional felony counts for allegedly targeting beauty salons as part of an organized retail theft ring.

Kenny Moore, 38, faces 19 counts of burglary of a business and one count of being part of an organized retail theft ring. According to Moore’s arrest report, Las Vegas Metropolitan police were investigating a string of thefts at beauty salons that occured from Jan. 4, 2023, through Sept. 14, 2023, and had identified Moore as one of the suspects.

Court documents said Moore would typically enter the salon with one or two females, usually the same women, and they would place items, including hair dye, cosmetics, clippers, and other tools in bags they had brought with them and then walk out of the store. They were only in the store for a few minutes before leaving. However, their images were captured on surveillance video during many of the thefts which helped police identify them.

Moore and his accomplices were brazen. The report said when an employee of one salon realized Moore and a woman were stealing items, she asked them to leave. But instead of offering to pay or leaving right away, they walked around adding more items to their bags and then left. Police said Moore and his accomplices stole merchandise that could easily be resold for profit.

One of the women with Moore was identified as Carolyn Cacciopoli. She is currently facing 14 counts of burglary of a business and one count of being part of an organized retail theft ring.

According to court documents, Moore has a criminal history dating back to 2004 with arrests for robbery, robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, petit larceny, and burglary. He currently has an open criminal case for stealing from beauty salons. In that case, he is due to be sentenced in May.

He is currently being held in the Clark County Detention Center.
