Man accused of stabbing Phoenix woman to death is back in Phoenix | Crime Files
PHOENIX - A man accused of killing a 24-year-old woman in Phoenix over the weekend is now in jail.
Per a Phoenix Police statement released on May 7, the suspect, who is allegedly in the United States illegally, turned himself in to border agents at Lukeville after initially fleeing the country.

Who's the suspect?
Court documents identified the suspect as 32-year-old Eduardo Galindo-Ramirez.
What happened?
Investigators say during the overnight hours of May 5, Galindo-Ramirez had a fight with his girlfriend at a home in the area of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road. While court documents redacted the victim's identity, Phoenix Police have identified her as 24-year-old Andrea Casarrubias Romero.
Phoenix Police officers were called to the home on the morning of May 5 for a welfare check, and when they got to the house, they found blood on the driveway, and Casarrubias Romero was found dead inside.
During a call that investigators were listening in on, Galindo-Ramirez admitted to stabbing and killing the victim following a fight. Afterwards, he allegedly fled to Nogales in a car before ditching the car, walked across the U.S.-Mexico Border, and boarded a bus to Puerto Penasco, also known as "Rocky Point."
In that same call, Galindo-Ramirez said he wanted to turn himself in, but did not have enough money to get back to Nogales. Eventually, a person who was in on the call contacted a friend in the area, who gave Galindo-Ramirez money.
Investigators say Galindo-Ramirez was detained by border agents at around 2:45 p.m. on May 6, and taken back to Phoenix by Phoenix Police officers after that.
What is the suspect accused of?
Galindo-Remirez is accused of a count of Intentional 2nd Degree Murder (A.R.S. 13-1104A1).
A judge has set a $1 million cash-only bond for Galindo-Ramirez, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 16.
