Man accused of shooting man twice in chest, killing him

A man is facing murder charges after he allegedly shot a man twice in the chest earlier this month.

James Tompkins was indicted on charges of murder and felonious assault, according to court documents.

On May 2, police were called to an apartment in the 2000 block of Montgomery Avenue in Springfield where Roderick Fudge was found dead.

Investigators allege Tompkins approached officers telling them he had been with Fudge earlier in the day.

Police noticed blood on Tompkins’ clothes and arrested him after questioning.

Entertainment giant Live Nation has confirmed its ticketing subsidiary Ticketmaster has been hacked. Live Nation confirmed the data breach in a filing with government regulators late on Friday after the markets closed. In its statement, Live Nation said the breach occurred on May 20, and that a cybercriminal "offered what it alleged to be Company user data for sale via the dark web."

Late Friday afternoon, a time window companies usually reserve for unflattering disclosures, AI startup Hugging Face said that its security team earlier this week detected "unauthorized access" to Spaces, Hugging Face's platform for creating, sharing and hosting AI models and resources. In a blog post, Hugging Face said that the intrusion related to Spaces secrets, or the private pieces of information that act as keys to unlock protected resources like accounts, tools and dev environments, and that it has "suspicions" some secrets could've been accessed by a third party without authorization. As a precaution, Hugging Face has revoked a number of tokens in those secrets.
