Man accused of raping child during burglary in Rockville

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Police said a man faces charges related to burglary and rape after a child came home to find him inside an apartment in Rockville on April 24.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCDP) said officers arreseted Eric Bacon, 33, two days after the attack.

Officers found Bacon in the 15900 block of Frederick Rd., roughly nine blocks from the apartment in which he’s accused of raping the child. Dectectives said that after the attack, which took place around 3 p.m. on April 24, Bacon left the apartment with items he stole. It was around 7 p.m. that day that the child’s brother came home. He said he saw Bacon outside of their home at that time.

The Montgomery County Department of Police said it was concerned there may be other people whom Bacon may have victimized.
