Man accused of killing Eunice man and his dog captured in Shreveport

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Eunice is behind bars, authorities said.

Daylon L. Rainville, 18, of Frierson, is charged with second degree murder and aggravated cruelty to animals. He is accused of killing Roy “Tray” Guillory, Jr., 19, and his dog April 8 at Guillory’s home in the 500 block of La. 513 in Eunice.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified Thursday that Rainville and another person were stopped shortly after midnight in Shreveport for a traffic stop. When the officers ran Rainville’s name, it was confirmed that he was wanted on murder charges.

Rainville was arrested and booked into the Caddo Parish Jail at 12:05 a.m. Thursday. Rainville was taken to St. Landry Parish the same day and booked into the parish jail.

No bond is set for Rainville at this time.
