Man accused of exposing himself to elderly women in Polk County, deputies say

Thursday morning, the Winter Haven Police Department arrested Jeremy Isaiah Menendez, 23, of Winter Haven, who was said to have exposed himself to elderly women in the area.

According to a WHPD release, Menendez exposed himself to two women, ages 81 and 67, on Feb. 5 after they saw him “playing with himself” in an SUV that was circling their neighborhood.

Eight days later, officers were called to the Walmart on Cypress Gardens after a Walmart associate, a 64-year-old woman, said a man exposed himself to her while she was cleaning the parking lot. Officers identified Menendez as the suspect through surveillance video.

Police said on March 7, an officer pulled over Menendez for an expired tag, arresting him after confirming that he had a warrant out for his arrest.

He was arrested on charges of lewd or lascivious exhibition in the presence of an elderly person.

“I applaud these victims for being aware of information, such as details of the vehicle, that led to the positive identification of this suspect,” Deputy Chief Vance Monroe said. “It’s obvious this guy was intent on continuing to display this disgusting behavior and getting him off the street was imperative.”
