Man accused of drug trafficking in Pike County

WESTFALL TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — According to Pike County District Attorney (D.A.) Ray Tonkin police arrested a man on Saturday, March 16, in Westfall Township for allegedly selling drugs.

Members of the Pike County Drug Tassau officers identified Eric Mosher, 44, of Port Jervis, New York, and charged him with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, after arresting him in the process of bringing drugs into Westfall Township to sell them.

According to the criminal affidavit detectives learned that Mosher would frequently travel from Port Jervis, New York to Westfall Township, Pike County to sell drugs.

Detectives, say officers from the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Eastern Pike Regional Department were waiting for Mosher to arrive when the car, Mosher was a passenger in, hit another vehicle.

According to police, Mosher then attempted to walk away from the collision, however when confronted by officers, Mosher attempted to discard two bags under a parked car.

Police located the bags and identified the substance inside as suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and 31 blue pills.

Officers say the suspected drugs will be sent for lab testing, as the blue pills have markings of being oxycodone, but could be falsely marked in an attempt to disguise them from being fentanyl pills.

“The cooperative work between multiple agencies in Pike County and the Port Jervis Police Department should continue to put drug dealers on notice that the cooperation will continue and will result in their arrest,” Tonkin said.

D.A. Tonkin thanked the Port Jervis Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.

“The cooperation of Chief Worden and his officers is outstanding and contributing to a safer Tri-State Area”, Tonkin added.

Mosher was arraigned and remanded to the Pike County Correctional Facility in place of posting $500,000 bail.

Mosher will be scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Pike County Court.
