Man, 32, dies in Fairfield County crash after hitting ditch

LANCASTER, Ohio (WCMH) — A 32-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after a crash in Fairfield County.

At around 3 a.m., Derrick Davis of Lancaster was driving a GMC Terrain north on State Route 37 near State Route 204, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The vehicle went off the side of the road, hit a ditch and embankment before rolling over. Davis ejected from the GMC, per OSHP.

Medics and troopers arrived at the scene where Davis was pronounced dead. OSHP said that Davis was not wearing a seat belt and that impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
