'Mamma Mia!' Comes To Arvada Center In September

ARVADA, CO – Did you see sequel Mamma Mia 2 this summer in theaters? Well, now you can see the play that started it all. Mamma Mia!, the ABBA-inspired 1999 Broadway musical hit will be bjorn again at Arvada Center for The Arts and Humanities to open the theater's new 2018-2019 season.

Rod A. Lansberry directs this whimsical "jukebox musical" involving a luxury wedding on a Greek Island and a bride who invites three men from her mother's past, to try to determine which is her true father. Hilarity ensues to the beloved sounds of recognizable hits from ABBA along with additional music composed for the score by band member Benny Andersson.

"Since its premiere in 1999, Mamma Mia! has been performed in over 40 countries, and every day, there are at least seven performances being staged somewhere in the world," the Arvada Center says.

  • Glenn DeVar (Sky)

  • Daniel Robert Sullivan (Sam Carmichael)

Ensemble members are: Jasmine Jackson, Emily Hin, McKayla Marso, Emily Luhrs, Lindsey Somers, Danielle Scheib, Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck, Alissa Robinson, Michael Bouchard, Daniel Velasquez, Nolan Baker, Barret Harper, Elliot Peterson, Benjamin Roeling, Colin Lee and Joe Callahan.

Previews begin Sept. 4 – 6, 7:30 p.m.

The show opens Opens Friday, Sept. 7 and runs through Sept. 30.

The theater will also host a "Happy Hour" performance Sept. 21 and Audience Talkbacks after performances Sept. 18, 27 and 27.
