Male strikes Mobile police cruiser, 3 other vehicles during chase: MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A male is in custody after he allegedly tried to drive away from police and started a chase during a traffic stop, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Police said a “male subject” refused to stop for officers just after 2:30 p.m. on Sperry Road.

He allegedly attempted to evade officers and struck a Mobile police patrol vehicle in the process.

He also allegedly hit three other vehicles before wrecking at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Highway 90.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials said the alleged suspect is in custody, but they did not reveal his identity and said they will not do so until the investigation is completed.
