New England Patriots’ fans have been treated to the emergence of a young wide receiver over the last several weeks in Malcolm Mitchell. Mitchell, the rookie out of the University of Georgia, has seen his playing time grow substantially as well as overall targets from quarterback Tom Brady.

Malcolm Mitchell has also seen the rise of his fantasy football value, regardless of whether or not he knows what that means.

When told about his new found value in fantasy football, Mitchell had the following to say regarding the situation.

“I have family members mention it, but I never know what they’re talking about,” Mitchell said Friday. “I’m not sure how that works. If someone said it, I’d probably have no idea what it means.”

Mitchell has emerged as a key target of New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady over the last several weeks. With the injuries to Rob Gronkowski (back surgery) and wide receiver Danny Amendola sidelined until the playoffs with an ankle injury, Malcolm Mitchell is becoming increasingly valuable to the Patriots’ offense.

Fantasy value doesn’t mean much to Malcolm Mitchell, even if it is a compliment.

“That’s cool,” he said with a smile, “but I really have no idea about fantasy football.”

Malcolm Mitchell will remain a high value in the fantasy football market entering Monday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Expect to see more and more of Mitchell as the season goes into the homestretch and Brady grows more and more comfortable with targeting him.
