Malaysia's finance ministry has taken up a substantial stake in defence services provider and contractor Destini Bhd, The Star reported on Tuesday, citing sources.

The ministry bought the stake through a fully-owned special purpose vehicle and details of the size and rationale of the purchase would be revealed in an official announcement soon, said The Star.
