We can rely on social media for everything from the latest news to seeing what our favorite celebrities ate last night. We also can turn to it for some pretty interesting makeup hacks.

Case in point: Popular beauty influencer Khloe Dosh shared a video on Instagram revealing an eyeshadow application tip that uses a tool that’s more than likely in your closet.

What, exactly, is Dosh’s secret tool? A plastic hanger. Her caption read, “I was about to throw my broken hangers out and was like EFF IT. Let me get this cut crease poppin.”

With the help of the turquoise plastic hanger, Dosh was able to perfectly blend eyeshadow on her upper and lower lids — getting a perfect, cut-creased look that can be a little tricky to do. She begins by placing the top hook portion of the hanger over the crease of her eye. Then she blends on a deep rouge eyeshadow around the top portion of the hook. After removing the hanger, she uses a small flat makeup brush to apply an eyeshadow base on the lower half of her eyelid and proceeds to put blue eyeshadow over the base, lining everything up just right.

Dosh finishes making up her eyes with winged eyeliner and dashes of turquoise glitter near the tear ducts. She completes the look by using a variety of complexion-enhancing products and highlighters, using a Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Antimicrobial Sonic Makeup Brush to seamlessly and quickly blend them.

So before you get rid of your old hangers, click the video below to see how Dosh puts them to good use.
