Maker of Chinese iPhone 5 knockoff vows to put Apple in its place [video]
The Goophone I5 isn’t just a cheap iPhone 5 knockoff — it’s also a matter of national pride in China. In a fan video posted on the Goophone’s official forums, a young Chinese Goophone fan speaks about how the Goophone has “vowed to resist the iPhone 5 from outside the country, according to the trademark law.” The Goophone fan also stresses that the device is designed from “independent research and development… with independent intellectual property rights.” Finally, the Goophone fan explains his anger at Apple (AAPL), saying that its “iPhone patents worldwide raised a big stick, has been the fault of global indignation.” He further says that “if the appearance of iPhone is same as Goophone I5, that would be the history of iPad trademark repeat again.” The full video is posted below.
