Majority of Americans want Hillary Clinton to run for 2016 White House bid

Washington, Dec. 7 (ANI): More than half of Americans will support Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the White House bid in 2016, a new poll has found. According to the ABC News/Washington Post Poll, 57 percent of Americans said that they want Clinton to run for President. The former senator and First Lady garnered strong support from women, with 66 percent saying that she should run for the White House. Clinton has said she wants to rest after four years heading the State Department, and visiting more than 100 countries, but key Democrats expect her to take a serious look at running for the White House, the New York Daily News reports. In a sign that she is keeping the door open to a candidacy, Clinton has been writing personal letters to vanquished congressional candidates thanking them for their service, maintaining relationships that could be useful should she return to politics, the report said. The poll found that an astounding 68 percent approve of her at the State Department. The poll also found that two out of three Americans view Clinton favorably overall, a high point in her 20 years as First Lady, senator, presidential candidate and top U.S. diplomat. (ANI)
