Major resurfacing project starting in Geneva Co.

GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A major resurfacing project in central Geneva County is expected to start this week.

The Alabama Department of Transportation will start shoulder widening and resurfacing on Highway 27 on Thursday, May 2. The work will go from the Geneva-Coffee County line to the beginning of the four-lane section, about 4.6 miles.

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.

Drivers should plan for lane closures and reduced speed limits.

The $1.4 million project was awarded to the Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan.
