Major delays expected amid Davis County construction this weekend

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Planning to travel through Davis County this weekend? Know that there could be major traffic delays.

The Utah Department of Transportation said that at 8 p.m. Friday, northbound US-89 will close at SR-193. The closure is set to last through Monday afternoon.

Drivers are advised to expect significant delays through the weekend.

“On Saturday afternoon, drivers could encounter delays of up to an hour on both US-89 and I-15 and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes or adjust travel times,” UDOT said.

The road is being closed so that the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District can install a new water pipeline.
