Mahomet man found dead in car outside Champaign gas station
May 9—CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police and the Champaign County Coroner's Office are investigating the death of a Mahomet man found in a parked vehicle Wednesday outside a Champaign gas station.
Interim Coroner Stephen Thuney said Jason W. Oaks, 45, was pronounced dead at 2:35 p.m. after he was found in a vehicle outside the Circle K at 2315 W. Springfield Ave.
The cause of death has not yet been determined and an autopsy is scheduled for today, but there were no initial indications of trauma or foul play, Thuney said.
