Madonna Posts a Sweet Message in Honor of Michael Jackson on His Birthday

It's been over seven years since Michael Jackson's tragic death, and today, Madonna is hononring her friend on what would have been 58th birthday. The Material Girl posted a sweet photo collage onto Instagram, featuring photos of herself and Jackson from back in the day. "Happy Birthday to this wonderful and glorious creature!!" she captioned the collage. "The King! Gone too soon!" Gone too soon, indeed.

Jackson was a true musical trailblazer, with out-of-this-world hits like "Billie Jean," "Thriller," "Smooth Criminal," and obviously so many more. His fashion choices made him a style icon, many of which Madonna showcased in her collage, including a white, bedazzled military style jacket and his classic red shirt/black top hat ensemble. Even Beyonce seemed to take inspiration from his military style during her incredible Super Bowl Half Time performance back in February--in fact, her black-and-gold leotard perfectly mirrored Jackson's own Half Time show outfit from 1993.

He may be gone, but he is certainly not forgotten, thanks to his loyal friends, family, and of course the millions of fans who supported him throughout his career.
