Madonna To Auction Personal Photos And More At Miami Benefit

The queen of pop will be hosting a benefit show and auction during Art Basel Miami Beach, where attendees will be able to bid on Madonna's personal artworks and wedding photos.

For those who might be interested in owning a piece of Madonna’s history, the pop icon will be auctioning off personal items and other lots at a benefit auction in Miami.

The funds from the Miami Beach-based event will go towards Madonna’s non-profit charity, Raising Malawi, which helps to better the lives of children in Malawi, according to an announcement from the star’s website. The theme of the benefit and concert, which will take place Friday evening, promises to be “an evening of music, art, and mischief.”

“Raising Malawi’s evening of art, music and mischief at Art Basel will support our latest project to establish Malawi’s first pediatric surgery and intensive care unit,” Madonna stated via The Guardian. “I’m excited to give others the opportunity to be part of this undertaking that will ultimately save lives and help the children of Malawi.”

The “Tears of a Clown” themed benefit will see Madonna revive her Tears of Clown performance where she had also performed the song “Send in the Clowns” by Stephen Sondheim, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The decadent event follows Miami’s largest art fair, coincides with this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, which began Thursday and runs through Sunday. The auction alone will likely be the perfect opportunity for celebrities and the A-list cognoscenti to put a little extra towards a cause and some seemingly priceless lots. A ticket price for the evening event starts at $5,000 and climbs to $150,000 for the philanthropist package.

Set to take place Friday evening in Miami Beach, the singer and actress will be auctioning off highly covetable items, including a Bulgari Serpenti necklace, Herb Ritts photographs of the pop star’s 1985 wedding to first husband, actor Sean Penn and artworks by Tracy Emin from Madonna’s personal collection.

Not only will ultra-rare lots be up for auction, events will be available to bidders, as well: A private dinner and show with a David Blaine performance, a week in Leonardo DiCaprio’s home in Palm Springs and a game of poker with actors Jonah Hill and Edward Norton will also be up for auction.
