Madison Co. Primary final results show mother, son sweep for school board

The offices of Madison County assessor of property and several Jackson-Madison County School Board races characterize a hotly contested Republican Primary on March 5.

A total of 9,141 votes were cast across 29 precincts, demonstrating a 14.62% voter turnout.

Mother and son duo Glen and Debbie Gaugh had sweeping wins in their respective races for the Jackson-Madison County School Board. Glen Gaugh secured his District 2 seat over Melissa Bailey Watson, while incumbent Debbie Gaugh won her District 3 seat for another term over opponents Brian Ford and Kipp Hornburger.

The Assessor of Property results reflect a win for incumbent Frances Hunley over her opponent James J.D. Hale.

Final voting numbers for the March 5 election came rolling in at approximately 8:30 p.m. and were as follows:

Republican Primary- Early voting results

Early voting results, released at 7 p.m. Tuesday by the Madison County Election Administrator, include nursing homes and absentee ballots.

Results show that incumbent Frances Hunley takes a large lead garnering 1,323 votes, vying to regain her seat as Property Assessor, while opponent James Hale trails behind with 615 votes.

School board races remain close, according to early voting results, showing no indication of a clear frontrunner at this time.
