One day remains before fans can enter the new home of the Falcons, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (virtually thanks to Madden 17)!

EA Sports Madden 17 will officially release on Tuesday, August 23rd. Several new features, including changes to the visual aspects and audio enhancements will be witnessed by fans of the game. These enhancements are being used to usher in a new era of Madden game play.

One of the “under the radar” features to the game is a first look at the Atlanta Falcons new stadium, which is scheduled to open for the 2017 season, as well as the 2019 Super Bowl. Although it won’t be the official Falcons’ stadium until Madden 18 comes out, the EA Sports team decided to give fans an early look at the state of the art facility.

The $1.4 billion project will be home to the Atlanta Falcons, the brand new Atlanta United FC, and many other major sporting events including the NCAA Basketball Final Four, SEC Football Championship, and the Super Bowl. The stadium features a unique circular scoreboard over the middle of the field and inside the open roof. This massive scoreboard, 58 feet high by 1,100 feet in circumference, totals 63,800 square feet of LED video display and will be seen first in Madden NFL 17.

Players will get the option to play with the retractable dome roof open or closed, similar to last year’s game. A closed roof reveals the signature Mercedes-Benz logo overhead, but will only close if weather permits an open one. Falcons’ fans may have to wait until 2017 to visit the fully completed Mercedes-Benz stadium in person, but thanks to EA Sports and Madden 17, the wait just got a little easier.
