Madame Web has become available to watch for Netflix users in the US.

The recent Sony Marvel movie follows Dakota Johnson's Cassandra Webb, who gains powers of clairvoyance and tries to protect three young women from a villain.

Netflix has now confirmed that the movie is available in the US, having previously confirmed that it would be released today (May 14).

UK viewers are not able to watch it at the moment, though a streaming release on NOW and Sky Cinema should be expected at some point in the future.

Fans in Britain can still watch at home, with Madame Web available digitally to buy or rent from Prime Video, iTunes and Microsoft Store.

The movie was released in cinemas earlier this year, though quickly became a critical and box office flop, also landing a spot on Rotten Tomatoes' worst-ever superhero movies, where it is the lowest-rated Sony Marvel project.

Reflecting on the negative reception, Johnson told Bustle in March: "Unfortunately, I'm not surprised that this has gone down the way it has.

"It's so hard to get movies made, and in these big movies that get made – and it's even starting to happen with the little ones, which is what's really freaking me out – decisions are being made by committees, and art does not do well when it's made by committee."

However, she told Digital Spy earlier this year that she would be up for doing a sequel, admitting: "There is so much I would like to look at. If they want me to come back, then I will."

Madame Web is available to watch on Netflix in the US. Elsewhere it is available to buy or rent in the UK from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and more.
