Trump: Cohen’s Secret Recording May Be ‘Illegal’

In response to reports that his former longtime lawyer Michael Cohen “secretly” recorded him discussing a hush money payment to a former Playboy model, President Trump on Saturday suggested such a recording would be “illegal.” Referring to the FBI raid on Cohen’s offices during which agents reportedly seized the recording, Trump called it “inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer’s office.” “Even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client—totally unheard of & perhaps illegal,” he wrote on Twitter. Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer’s office (early in the morning) - almost unheard of.
