CHICAGO — A $10,500 reward was offered this morning for help in catching the person who shot and killed a 2-year-old boy. Former Chicago Bear Richard Dent has contributed to the cause. Neighbors gathered Thursday evening near Ogden and Kostner, where Lavontay White was shot and killed in an alley. He was in a car with his uncle, a man police say is a known gang member. The uncle's pregnant girlfriend was also in the vehicle. The uncle was shot and killed, his girlfriend was shot but survived. She was broadcasting on Facebook Live when the shooting took place. Community activists say, people need to help the police catch the killer. Lavontay's death was Chicago's third child murder in four days.
