White House adviser Robert O'Brien becomes most senior US official to test positive for coronavirus

Donald Trump's National Security Adviser has tested positive for coronavirus, making him the highest-ranking US official known to have contracted the disease so far. Robert O'Brien, who is reported to have caught the virus from a “family event”, has mild symptoms and has been self-isolating since receiving the result, a White House spokesman said on Monday. It is understood that he was last at the White House on Thursday, however, the spokesperson said there is “no risk of exposure to the president or the vice president." Their last public appearance together was over two weeks ago during a visit to US Southern Command in Miami on July 10.
