IPOs, M&A Activity Drive Stock Markets Higher on Wednesday

Wall Street bulls retook control of the stock market on Wednesday, helping major market benchmarks rebound from consecutive days of declines. Although many of the same worries still plague investors, hopes for a major macroeconomic recovery are strong enough to keep most investors comfortable about the stock market's long-term prospects. Gains for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC), and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) all amounted to roughly 1% or more.
