Amazon Plans to Hire 150,000 Season Workers for Holiday Shopping Season

Amazon intends to hire 150,000 seasonal workers in the U.S., a 50% increase from last years’s holiday season. Amazon (ticker:AMZN) said in an announcement Monday that the positions are in addition to previously announced plans to fill 40,000 new corporate and tech jobs and 125,000 full-time and part-time fulfillment and delivery roles. Amazon said all of the temp jobs offer pay starting at $18 an hour, sign-on bonuses of up to $3,000 and an additional $3 an hour depending on shift times in many locations.
