The price of US turkeys has nearly doubled in two years

A Thanksgiving meal is going to cost more this year. The price of a turkey nearly doubled from 81 cents a pound in January 2019 to $1.36 in September, according to a Wells Fargo analysis of US Department of Agriculture (USDA) data that looked at whole birds ranging from eight to 16 pounds. Overall, the cost of food has been on the rise this year, driven by soaring beef prices.
