Two of the Orlando International Airport's busiest airlines continue to duke it out to acquire Miramar-based Spirit Airlines — the latest salvo stating it could result in fewer seats and higher prices. Denver-based Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: ULCC), in a June 27 letter to Spirit (NYSE: SAVE) stockholders, raised its offer to buy Spirit amid a bidding war with New York-based JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU), sweetening the cash part of its offer by $2 per share to $4.13 per share and increasing the reverse break-up fee by $100 million to $350 million, said a report from Denver Business Journal. The letter takes a shot at JetBlue's intentions if it is successful in acquiring Spirit.
