Corelogic, the financial data service, has made a baseline forecast that some three million homeowners will fall behind on their mortgage payments—and their pessimistic forecast predicts more than 12 million delinquent borrowers. After the US housing bubble popped in 2007, African American and Latino homeowners were more than twice as likely as whites to be delinquent on mortgage payments and enter foreclosure.
