The coronavirus pandemic has already forced a good 200,000 small businesses to close their doors on a permanent basis. For one thing, business closures mean vacancies for commercial landlords, and at a time when the economy is still pretty shaky, finding new tenants is far from an easy task. Additionally, the loss of local businesses can hurt communities and bring property values down.
