Lynchburg Water Resources beginning CSO Separation project on Pierce Street

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)—The City of Lynchburg’s Water Resources Office announced a contractor will be completing work on the Pierce Street CSO Separation Project beginning the week of March 11.

The city hopes this project will improve the area’s stormwater management, fire protection, and handicap accessibility. The project includes separating the combined sewer and stormwater pipes on Pierce Street between 14th and 15th, and on 14th Street between Pierce and Filmore Streets. Also, the project requires replacing fire hydrants and sidewalk handicap ramps along these locations.

Drivers traveling through the area should use caution and obey all traffic signs and flagging operations.

Water Resources do not expect any disruptions to any services. If disruptions are needed, residents will receive a notice 24 hours in advance to any outages.
