Luzerne County coroner: Debra Fox death undetermined

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Luzerne County coroner reports Debra Fox’s death is undetermined after her body was found near the North Cross Valley Expressway.

Luzerne County Coroner Jill Matthews says an autopsy of Debra Fox’s remains returned undetermined after her body was found in a wooded area between the North Cross Valley Expressway and the Host Inn on Kidder Street on March 26.

Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce stated the 69-year-old woman’s death is linked to the homicide investigation at Carlisle Street in south Wilkes-Barre.

Body found on Route 315 Pittston Township

Investigators discovered the decomposing body of Nicole Cuevas, 38, of Michigan, in the basement of a home located on Carlisle Street in February 2024.

DA Sanguedolce confirmed that Fox formerly owned the Carlisle Street house and she was last seen in mid-January 2024.

Coroner Matthews told 28/22 News that Fox’s death is undetermined and she will not be releasing any other information regarding the case.
